Help! There’s nothing for my under 3s in church.

18 February 2020

Not every church provides groups for babies and toddlers, meaning that even being in church may feel stressful for parents and carers.

In an episode of the Parenting for Faith podcast, Rachel asked Sarah, a mum of three little people and an experienced children’s pastor for her advice. You can listen to Sarah’s answer below and we have summarised her main ideas here:

  1. Check in with your leadership to find out their expectations for you with your children; you may find that this conversation helps them see things from your perspective.
  2. Think about what you can do with your children: for example, engaging them in worship.
  3. Think about what your values of church are and how you can help you and your children explore those together in that church setting.
  4. Consider who might be able to help you in church?
